Management TeamMike Heth, President
Seismic runs in some families and the Heth family is no exception. Having been around the drilling industry his entire life, Mike is the son of Mel – as in "Mel's Seismic". Mike purchased the business from his Father, growing and expanding it to being the leading seismic drill company in Western Canada. A "hands on" owner, Mike works actively in the business. At Mel's Seismic, he's considered the "marketing and sales expert." When not working, Mike enjoys snowmobiling, motorcycling and golfing. His favourite pastime though is spending time with his two wonderful kids.
Doug Bystrom, Drill Supervisor
Doug started out with Mel's Seismic in 1983 as a helper, working his way through the ranks to Drill Supervisor. His way with people, ability to resolve issues, and get the job done safely makes him a treasure at Mel's Seismic. We consider him our "people expert". When he's not drilling or supervising, Doug enjoys farming, golfing and most of all, his children.
Ken Scaife, Drill Supervisor
Ken has 20 years of seismic experience with Mel's Seismic. He also has extensive knowledge in the carpentry industry, as well as skill in welding. We at Mel's Seismic consider Ken our "technical expert". Ken grew up in Naicam, Saskatchewan where he currently resides with his family. He is married, a father of three, and newly a grandfather of a baby girl. When Ken is not busy working, he enjoys spending time with his family, snowmobiling and restoring classic cars.
Tom Witwer, Controller
Invaluable to Mel's, Tom brings over 20 years of accounting experience to the company. With a military start to his career, not only is he great with numbers, but he's an amazing musician. Modest and quiet, he's the guy we go to when it's crunch time with his quiet, calm demeanor. At Mel's Seismic, he's the "Work the numbers magic" guy.
